Forever 29 (Substack)

A 10-part essay series exploring the themes of failure, fear, heart, and hope as I approached my thirtieth birthday. Each piece wrestles with what it means to grow up, face your fears, and believe you're worthy of a good life — even when you're terrified.

Core philosophy:
"People are imbued with indelible value. Our hearts and our kindness and our indestructible goodness will always be greater than our failures."

"Why we Need to Embrace Fear Instead of Avoiding It"

Published in: Know Thyself, Heal Thyself (Medium) | March 2022

Exploring courage through the lens of stoic philosophy and Ryan Holiday's "Courage is Calling." A meditation on living with fear instead of letting it control us.

"Fear is a rot and it will eat at you if you let it. The voice is alive because we don't kill it. We let it live because some part of us believes it's true."

"I Had A Bad Mental Health Week; Here's How I Handled It"

Published in: Know Thyself, Heal Thyself (Medium) | May 2021

Honest look at navigating a particularly difficult week, the anger that surfaces, and what it teaches us about ourselves.

"How fucking dare you? That was the thought that lived on the tip of my tongue during the past few weeks. I was pissed off, at everything, and I couldn't figure out why."

"Adopting a cat is like an abusive relationship"

Published on: Medium | April 2021

A humorous take on pet ownership, fear, and the things we love that terrify us. Because sometimes you need to laugh at the absurdity of being human.

"Having a cat is like an abusive relationship. It's rough. It's warm and fuzzy for some of the time but ultimately you have to spend a lot of time healing your wounds, and sometimes your cat's wounds aka their hysterectomy."

About My Writing

I've spent nearly a decade writing everything from corporate communications to deeply personal essays. What drives me is the belief that people are imbued with indelible value — that our hearts, kindness, and indestructible goodness will always be greater than our failures.

My writing tends to be:
- Honest — I don't shy away from the hard stuff
- Human — Real experiences, real emotions
- Hopeful — Even in darkness, I'm looking for the light

Whether I'm crafting brand messaging or personal essays, I'm always asking: What makes this true? What makes this matter?

I've been described as:
- "Brutally honest without being cynical"
- "Philosophical without being preachy"
- "Vulnerable without being performative"

I hold poetry like a safety blanket. It keeps me warm and reminds me of my most precious belief: that we're all worthy of a good life, no matter how messy we are.

Philosophy

"No matter what we do, we are worthy of a good life and capable of building it."

This belief shapes everything I write and everything I build. We're all messy, terrified, and brilliantly human. That's not a bug — it's the whole point.

I exist in the tension between being 41% terrified of what comes next and 42% okay with any outcome. Between 5% ambition and 100% committed to trying. Between feeling incredibly small and needing so much space.

This tension is where I write from. I don't resolve it. I live in it.

Writing Services

I'm available for:

If you're looking for writing that sounds like an actual human and builds authentic connections, let's talk.
